Presenting TWO American recording premieres
Discover two American recording premiers on a newly released album, PARALLAX. Produced by the sound engineering team of 17-time Grammy Award-winning 5/4 Productions and inspired by the “parallax effect,” violinist Daniela Shtereva and pianist Alexandra Carlson created a collection of rare works related to one another through intriguing historic and thematic relationships. Just listen, and you will be captivated by the musical journey through the folk traditions and cultural influences of Bulgaria, Spain, Belgium, Russia, and the US.
With compositions by N. Paganini, J. Achron, P. Vladigerov, I. Albéniz, R. Shchedrin, and G. Lekeu, this album spans both the Romantic and Modern periods. Most selections are not well known in the US and the Paganini-Achron is so rare that Daniela and Alexandra worked from a recently discovered, unpublished, 1919 manuscript. Recorded at the world-renowned acoustical masterpiece Mechanics Hall, in Worcester, Mass., PARALLAX was recently awarded a Silver Medal by the 2020 Global Music Awards.
After listening to PARALLAX, the legendary Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition winner, Elmar Oliveira, wrote: “Daniela and Alexandra are the perfect partners. They bring out the best in each other’s playing. Daniela is a superb violinist with all the technique in the world and a beautiful sound. Alexandra is her equal with great pianism and phrasing. They are a duo to be reckoned with. Superb is all that comes to mind.”
So, experience for yourself a profound shift in your worldview, EXPERIENCE PARALLAX!
